Fr. Andrew Moore to speak at Merrillville, IN retreat September 21-22

MERRILLVILLE, IN [MW Diocese Communications] — The Protection of the Virgin Mary Church here will sponsor a retreat for men and women Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22, 2013.

The retreat theme — “The Church: Our Family, Our Home, Our Salvation” — will be developed by Priest Andrew Moore, Rector of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, Springfield, MO. Father Andrew has a wealth of pastoral experience and is widely known as an engaging speaker.

RETREAT SCHEDULE

Saturday, September 21 — The Leavetaking of the Elevation of the Cross

  • 8:30 am Registration Coffee, etc. Bookstore open.
  • 9:00 am Opening Prayers with Akathist.
  • Break
  • 10:00 am Session 1.
  • 12:00 nn Lunch; Bookstore open; Quiet Reflection.
  • 1:30 pm Session 2.
  • 3:30 pm Break; Reflection.
  • 4:00 pm Vespers.
  • 5:00 pm Dinner; Bookstore open; Free Evening.

Sunday, September 22 — Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

  • 9:40 am Hours
  • 10:00 am Divine Liturgy – Fr. Andrew will be the Homilist
  • Wrap-up session to follow Divine Liturgy, during the Coffee Hour

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration includes lunch and dinner on Saturday, as listed in the schedule, and all retreat materials.

*** Individuals — $35 registration.

*** Couples (married or betrothed) — $60 registration.

*** Scholarships are available for persons who would otherwise not be able to attend. Call 219-947-0827 and leave a message.
